Nude/Transparent Cylinder for Fire
Thanks again and again for your prompt reply/reaction to my desperate hope to secure “Right Materials of PC Polymer”.
In response to your questions;
1.Re 1. You mentioned the application as cylinders for fire extinguishers. Is it a new application or program?>>>”Completely New Application” as I already tested the feasibility of the part(Nude/Transparent Cylinder of Polycarbonate only), with using the normal and simple water bottles in the markets as the Pressure containing cylinder for Fire Extinguishers(Please see the “Attached Photos of three water bottles which were a little blown out due to inner pressure of Nitrogen gas).
Absolutely this is not a program, but a new Application with Polycarbonate Plastics to “Fire Extinguishers”, first time in the world(Until now, some guys had tried but they all gave up finally without any result or success!!!!)
2. Re : the minimum values of
-”Chemical resistance” :
Normal Fire Extinguishers over this world have the Dry Chemical(silicone-oiled First Ammonium hosphate, Nh4h2Po4) inside, as “Fire Suppression or Suffectant Material” or AFFF(Aqueous Formal Foaming Foam) or some “Reinforced Liquids”, such as DuPont’s Fire Extinguishant-FE series from “Chemtura”, tyco’s pyro liquids or 3M’s Fluo-Protein free AFFF) or Halon Gas.
Therefore the normal chemical resistance of PC at present was believed to be enough to endure the silicone-oiled<glassy> Nh4h2Po4 or AFFF or DuPont’s Fire Extinguishant or even, Halon Gas.
Please kindly re-check the chemical resistance with “Silicone-oiled Nh4h2Po4″ as dry chemicals for fire suffectant, AFFF as liquidified Fire Suppression materials, or “Halon Gas”(soon, Halon will be prohibited in some years as it deteriorates the atmosphere in the air)
- “Flame retardancy” :
Flame retardancy is not so important for fire extinguishers, but the Regulation will require “Flame retardancy. The Sprinklers in the ceilings are designed to operate at the temperature of 72 centi-grades or less, which means the temperature of 72 centi-degrees are fires occurred nearby!!! With this concept to apply for fire extinguishers, the flame retardancy for Nude/Transparent Cylinder with normal Polycarbonate
is enough. Please keep in mind, the Fire Extinguisher is not dangerous or hazardous materials any more, in the fires, when explosed or touched with “fire” at the temperature over 72 centi-degrees nearby yourself, which means there is “FIRE” around yourself!!!!. About ten years ago, when normal fire extinguishers were filled with Dry Chemicals together with CO2 cylinder as pressure inside(Now this “Pressure Adding method of fire extinguisher” can be found nearby yourself also, together with normal “Pressure Containing Fire Extinguishers” in this world) which is new model and replacements of “Pressure Adding Fire Extinguishers”
- “Dimensional stability” :
As an “Automatically Diffusing Fire Extinguishers” with Polycarbonate Cylinder, the Nude/Transparent cylinder for fire extinguishers should remain the dimension until 72 centi-degree or some higher temperature. When the temperature reaches over 100, then the “Nude/Transparent Cylinder will start to operate automatically to melt down and then explode or diffuse the “Fire Suppression Chemicals, inside” to the fire nearby and then automatically put off FIRE without manual operation by human beings. Therefore If and when the fire extinguishers with Nude/transparent Polycarbonate cylider are furnished in the offices, builings, homes, that means you have an automatic fire extinguishers at same time!!!!
3. Regulation or Standard your part needs to comply with.:::
Until now, there have been “No, absolutely Never” fire extinguisher with plastic cylinder!!! , which means there are no specific Regulation or standard my part needs to comply. However, considering and comparing with normal “Iron-clad, Alumiminum or canned spray types of small fire extinguishers over the world, the regulation and standard should be lighter tha aluminum in the tensile strengths, elongations and other characteristics of materials. As Fire Extinguisher, the outer cylinder roles only for pressure containing of Nitrogen gas as a power source to emit or diffuse the inside “Fire Suppression Chemicals” through nozzle or valve in the neck of fire extinguisher. If and when PC cylinder is used, then the outer container can be an automatic Switch which operates at the termperature of over 72 centi-degrees, melting PC in the fire and then this Switch in the form of PC cylinder automatically emit or diffuse the chemical materials inside without manual oeration by human beings.
4. “Environments to be exposed to” :
Indoor, or outdoor, all over the places in the world, just like a fire extinguisher, nearby yourself, including, but not limited to, homes, offices, buildings, factories and so on and on. The exposing temperatue is hottest weather in Saudi Arabia or coldest weather in Antarctic/Arctic camps or buildings, or in Russia or in Finland. To my knowledge, the temperature endurance of normal PC would be sufficient for the Environment(-45+145centigrades)
5. Dimensions of fire extinguishes:
Normal and simple fire extinguishers contain 3.75 Litres in volume(Weight of materials:3.0kgs), with so many varieties of dimensions(Please just look around yourself to find out any fire extinguisher, near by you in home, office, and subways or buses, or railroads). There are so many different dimensions in this world. But very popular and normal dimensions are as follows;
- Height : approximately 55 cm
- Diameter : appoximately 16 cm
- Total Weight including Fire Suppression materials in Dry Chemical(ABC fire types) : 5.0kgs in Iron, Cold rolled coil, weldded in the middle
- Net weight of Dry Chemicals : normally 3.0kgs
- Net Volume of Fire Extinguishes(3.0kgs) : 3.75 Litres
6. How will my Nude/Transparent Fire Extinguishers be assembled?:
Just like same as normal fire extinguishers, only replacing the Iron/Aluminum out cylinder with Polycarbonate Plastic cylinders, Now I am also asking a completely new concept about “Valve for Fire Extinguisher” and “Plastic Sprinkler” using other engineering plastics(such polymer, MC900 or Acetyle or Nylon Double Glass, named by Korea) to replace also the Iron/Aluminum Sprinklers and valves for fire extinguisher in this world, all over the world. Later I will apply these Plastic valves to my “Nude/Transparent Cylinder for fire extinguishers”. but now at the moment, I should use the Iron/Aluminum/Die-casted steel valves to seal or tighten the Pressure gas(Nitrogen gas) at the neck of PC cylinder as kinds of lids of normal water bottles. This means that at this moment, My Nude cylinder of PC should be tightened and sealed with Iron/Aluminum/Die-casted steel valves as usual and norml fire extinguisher all around yourself, only replacing the outer cylinder with my Nude Cylinder of PC.
7. How will the parts be processed?:
Just like a water container for purified Avian, Mineral water, my Nude cylinder can be processed. Blow molding or Direct Blow molding method can be applied, never with Injection molding method. Please consider that you are making another type of water bottles with thicker and bigge water bottles than normal ones
8.Annual consumption I expect per year???
Can you imagine that how many fire extinguishers exist in the world, and How many years those fire extinguishers should be replaced with new ones for the emergent uses at one time in case of fires around yourself???
If and when this application is feasible, then the annual consumption of PC granulates would be one million per year!!!!
9. The sample in the form of sheets or granulates:
If you have the sheets, then I would like to receive for tests, but I prefer to receive in the form of tubes or bottles, if you have.
Some weeks later, some granulates will be needed for the test of mass production in the form of cylinders with Blow molding. Definitely please try to find out any type of bottle(water or chemical container) to meet with above-mentioned requirement, and send to me for more specific and final tests for final mass production.

Looking desperately for your technical information about my Nude/Transparent/Naked/Visible/See-through Cylinders for any type of fire extinguishers in this world over!!!
For your just information, I had already got some information from LG Dow Chemical in Seoul and SABIC Plastics(GE Plastics-old) in Korea, about the typical characteristics of Polycarbonate, including “Gas Permeability or Gas Leak-out” from PC Cylinder.
As a pressure container inside, the gas permeability or leak-out is a very important factor to be considered, especially for the uses as fire extinguishers;
Attached please find some concepts about my “Nude/Transparent Fire Extinguishers” which were temporarily made with Water Bottles of “Lock N Lock” in Korea and water containers of “Nalgene” of U.S.A , as fire extinguishers, containing Nitrogen gas(9.8kgf/cm2);

| Replacing all the sprinklers of Iron/Aluminum/diecasted steel in the world, with plastics(Acetyle, Nylon MC900 in Korea or Nylon Double Glass in Korea or your recommending Engineering Plastics) in order to make following advantages over the existing Iron/Aluminum/Die-casted Steel Sprinklers in this world over;; 1. Reducing weight under the ceilings of buildings 2. When the Sprinkler operates, the Iron/Aluminum/Die-casted parts of Sprinkler may shoot the head of human beings under the ceilings of building, which is dangerous also. If Plastic parts of Sprinkler hit the heads of human beings, it would be safer than iron/aluminum/die-casted steel 3. Reducing costs, as plastic is cheaper than any Iron/Aluminum/Die-casted Steel. 4. Making easy for mass production of Sprinklers with simple injection molding of plastics and then milling or maching or grinding with the molded plastic sprinklers. |

| Replacing Iron/Aluminum/Stainless Steel cylinders of fire extinguishers over the world, with transparent plastic cylinder(Polycarbonate, PC/PBT or PC/ABS), in order to make following characteristics; 1. Cylinder should be visible inside from outside(absolutely transparent, but color can be mixed) 2. Lighter than Aluminum/Iron 3. Pressure(Nitrogen gas, N2)should be contained upto 40kgf/cm2, more or less) for the purposes of the emssion(explosion, diffusion) of the Dry Chemical Fire Suppression materials(siliconed Nh4h2Po4) or AFFF(Aqueous Film Forming Form) or even Halon 4. Temperature tolerance should be normal Polycarbonate(-65+140) or more wider 5. Wall Thickness of this cylinder should be less than 2mm 6. Total cost, comparing with hot-rolled iron coil, should be lower than iron/aluminum 7. the shape can be exactly same as the existing fire extinguishers over the world, and then later can be modified into the nude shape of sexy ladies or Venus Sculpture 8. Based on my knowledge, Lexan or Makrolon of Polycarbonate can be enough at this moment, but I am seeking more cheaper and stronger(absolutely transparent) one, with blending of PBT, ABS, PP into Polycarbonate |

More specific requirements are as follows; 1. exactly same shape and maching as current and existing valves of fire extinguishers over the world and same function as the current and existing valves in the world 2. Plastic valve should be lighter than metal 3. Plastic valve should be moulded easily and should be grinded or machined easily after molding to make exact shape of valves for fire extinguishers. 4. Cheaper than metal |
